A wind generator is a device that generates electrical power from wind energy. Traditionally, wind generators are connected to wind turbines (those large propellers that are the most striking visible parts of a wind energy system) which are connected to electrical grids that power homes, schools and offices. Back in the day, this technology was not available for home use until there was a clamor for cheap and alternative power sources.

Wind generators use wind, a renewable resource that does not produce harmful carbon emissions when converted to electricity. By using wind as a power source, we can help lessen the destruction of our environment, leaving more of our world for the next generation. Wind energy doesn’t produce green house gases that destroys the ozone layer which will help prevent global warming. Using wind to produce electricity is not a new concept by any means. In fact it has been in existence for a very long time. However, it has only been recently available to the general public. Gone are the days where only large wind farms can use windmills to produce electricity. Nowadays, just about anyone can purchase a wind generator and install it at home.
Wind generators cost around a couple hundred dollars, which is more than what a typical American household spends on electricity each month. This makes this idea a little less attractive to majority of Americans. What they must understand is that wind generators are a one time investment that they can benefit from for a very long time and it will pay back the investment very quickly.
